A Unique Offering from the APICS Anaheim Chapter!
On a journey of continuous improvement the APICS Anaheim Chapter has developed “two for” with that incorporates Lean and Six Sigma Green Belt training and Lean.
Advancing and sustaining vocational and company growth can be heavily dependent on leveraging proven continuous tools/concepts. Leading this field are Lean and Six Sigma where Lean and Six Sigma are mutually inclusive for your journey to gain competitive excellence as an organization and as a career force multiplier for today’s volatile job market. To address these needs and opportunities, the Anaheim Chapter of APICS has developed an incorporated Lean and Six Sigma offering where one can receive Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and an in-depth Lean training.
Lean /Six Sigma Green Belt - Starting on January 10, 2012
OK, Why Lean / Six Sigma? In today's expanding global economy, growing financial downturns, and an ever-changing business posture, many businesses are under tremendous pressure to remain competitive. Lean/Six Sigma is designed to provide tangible business results and cost savings by consistently delivering products and services quicker, cheaper, with less variation, less waste, and increased reliability.
Lean/Six Sigma can be applicable to all industrial sectors making it attractive to both private and government businesses. With high cost savings and efficiency gains, Six Sigma, along with Lean, are now seen as mandatory in many organizations. Six Sigma is not mutually exclusive with Lean, but they are implicitly linked to work together for continuous improvement and breakthrough results.
A national survey has shown that individuals with Six Sigma certification and Lean training significantly increase their earnings power.
Class Instructions will be led by a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Lean Practitioner. A project is part of the Six Sigma curriculum and can be team-based. Guidelines and criteria are available to facilitate the project. There will be a review and quizzes which will be the basis for the open book final exam.
There are no prerequisites required for this course, but to better personalize and to have valued and effective instructor to student interaction/mentoring, the Enrollment is limited to 6 students at this time.
"Takeaways" include The APICS Lean Workshop and the Six Sigma Green Belt student books, Software tools for Lean and Six Sigma and a statistical calculator as part of their registration benefits.
We have been asked, "Why are we offering the Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean training at such a low cost since similar offerings are usually twice your cost or greater?” Our response to this is that our chapter has a vision and goal in enhancing our customers’ careers and/or their workplace and competitive advantage. If we can do this at the lowest cost while offering value and a powerful business tool set while covering our expenses, we are meeting our own expectations and vision.
