  Meggitt Sensing Systems specializes in designing products to operate under harsh and demanding conditions. Our systems are used in a diverse range of markets and applications, from aircraft and space launchers to gas turbines and heart monitors. This requires Meggitt’s smart engineering for extreme environments.

  Meggitt Sensing Systems Orange County designs and manufactures sensors and instrumentation focused on applications in Test and Measurement for Aerospace, Medical and Energy sectors.
  •  accelerometers

   We provide mission critical performance for the most challenging aerospace, automotive, defense, industrial and infrastructure applications where accurate and reliable data is absolutely vital:
  •  impact/shock
  •  flight test
  •  aerodynamic/wind tunnel
  •  vibro-acoustic

  The Procurement Manager is responsible for the coordination and execution of all purchasing related activities as well as material handling and logistics.  Purchasing activities include negotiating contracts, purchase record maintenance, vendor management, vendor quality assurance, price and availability trend reviews, and cost reduction. 

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide leadership to the procurement, logistics, and material handling staff.
  •  Manage the cycle count program and ensure accuracy of inventory.
  •  Ensure the standardization and implementation of best practices.
  •  Support VAVE activities to reduce costs.
  •  Works closely with material planning to ensure stock-outs and over-stock conditions do not occur, and works with suppliers when needed to improve lead times or minimum purchase quantities to avoid these conditions.
  • Manages PO delivery schedules & suppliers performance to ensure on time delivery in full to support internal production schedules & customer service requirements.
  • Manages key metrics related to assigned suppliers & internal processes to achieve targets

Job Specifications
  • Education: Bachelor Degree Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics or related field
  • 8-10 Years of related procurement work experience
  •  Previous experience leading procurement group
  •  Experience within a manufacturing environment is a must
  •  Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred), MRP and Plan for Every Part (PFEP)
  •  Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically
  •  Ability to develop process while keeping focus on achieving breakthrough results
  •  Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices
  •  Demonstrated ability to collaborate and provide cross-functional leadership at all levels in the organization
  •  Decisively makes high-quality decisions in a timely manner
  •  Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
  •  Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook
  •  APICS certification highly desirable.
